Take this test – take a look at your last ad (print, radio, TV – doesn’t matter). Now, replace the logo and slogan with one of your competitor’s logos and slogans. Does the ad still work? Is everything still true? If so, your ad is NOT differentiating you!
Sale prices and coupons do not make you different. It’s okay to include them in your advertising, but first and foremost, your ad must make you unique in some way. You must OWN something.
